A Door to Door Adventure
Sustrans
We’ve designed a poster, travel journal leaflet, competition entry form and stickers for Active Travel to School Week 2015 organised by Sustrans. We also developed a new title for the event: A Door to Door Adventure. The initiative, which takes place in May, encourages school kids to use public transport, scooters, bikes, feet or any other green form of transport to get to school.
The materials have been created with fun in mind, so there are puzzles, quirky illustrations and plenty of spaces where children can let their imagination run wild. There are even some animal characters to help things along. The idea is to encourage kids to engage with their environment, think about the way they travel and to get creative. As well as completing their travel journal for the week, participants can enter a competition to design their dream journey to school. The event runs from May 18th to 22nd and with 18,000 children expected to take part it should make a real impact on school-run traffic and carbon emissions!
“Working with Green Hat has been an absolute pleasure. Every meeting was great fun as well as being very productive. Our ideas were considered and included and they were efficient and timely in response to our requests. They communicated clearly with us every step of the way so we could be sure to meet our deadline and were flexible and patient when our plans changed. The result was a resource that exceeded our expectations and provided a depth that would not have been possible without their professional support. Schools and pupils have really enjoyed using the finished product. I would definitely work with Green Hat again.”

“Really liked the resources this year, simple enough for all to enjoy-especially loving the bus Dot to Dot in all year groups!”

“Children preferred the working out how many times I crossed the road activity and were quite surprised! 11 of us tried a new route, half preferred the new route! The top 5 things encouraged lots of extra looking around and children appreciate not being in a car. About half would like to walk more now! About 8 children enjoyed being dropped off further away so much that they are going to do it more regularly!”

“Our bike shed is jam packed! Best quote of the day for a very wet, cold windy Monday from a parent was that she had had such a laugh with her son watching him rollerblade to school – rollerblading in the rain was fab! Teachers too very imaginative ideas of their dream journey to school!”
